PESCIA Cedric

Born in Lausanne, with Swiss and French nationalities, Cédric Pescia began his musical studies at the age of seven. He first studied at the Lausanne Conservatory in the class of Christian Favre then with Dominique Merlet at the Geneva Conservatory. He completed his studies at the Universität der Künste in Berlin in the class of Klaus Hellwig.

From 2003 to 2006, he was invited to the “International Piano Academy, Lake Como”, where he studied with Dimitri Bashkirov, Leon Fleisher and Andreas Staier, among others.

He won 1st Prize in the Gina Bachauer International Artists Piano Competition 2002 in Salt Lake City, USA. In 2007, Cédric Pescia was awarded the Music Prize of the Fondation Vaudoise pour la Culture. He is also the recipient of a grant from the Leenaards Foundation in Lausanne.

Since then, he has given numerous concerts and recitals in Europe, the United States, China, South America and North Africa, and has been invited to perform at prestigious international festivals, including the Prague Spring, Lucerne Festival, Menuhin Festival Gstaad, Schubertiade Hohenems and Radio France Montpellier.

Alongside his activities as a soloist, his love of chamber music leads him to play regularly with renowned partners. Cédric Pescia has a long-standing collaboration with the violinist Nurit Stark.

A founding member of Lausanne’s ‘Ensemble enScène’ chamber music concert series, he has been its artistic director since 2006. Cédric Pescia also chairs the artistic committee of the Geneva International Music Competition.

Since 2012, he has been professor of piano at the Haute Ecole de Musique de Genève and gives master classes in the United States and Europe.

He has recorded numerous CDs to rave reviews.
