Filippo Gamba studied and graduated in his home town. He won numerous 1st prizes in the most prestigious international competitions from 1993 to 1999. En 2000, le pianiste obtient le 1er prix au Concours Géza Anda de Zurich. He was also awarded the Mozart Prize for the best performance of the concerto for piano and orchestra.
As a soloist, he has performed under the direction of great masters with the most prestigious orchestras throughout Europe. His concert activities include chamber music, with numerous quartets.
Filippo Gamba has made recordings for DECCA devoted to Beethoven and Schumann.
Filippo Gamba has given master classes at various festivals in Europe and the United States and has been a member of the jury for several competitions in Europe.
An active chamber musician, he has also been a professor at the Basel University of Music since 2005.
