JAERMANN Marc

Marc Jaermann studied cello at the Lausanne Conservatory, then in Zurich with Claude Starck and in Vienna with André Navarra.

He has performed with the Camerata Bern, the Swiss Chamber Players, the Chamber Orchestra of Europe and the Bern Symphony Orchestra. With the Musiviva trio, he won first prize at the Colmar International Competition in 1983.

Since 1985, the year of his first prize at the Evian International Competition with the Sine Nomine Quartet, he has devoted himself mainly to the string quartet.

Placing chamber music at the center of his work as a performer, he strives to transmit his passion for ensemble music to his cello students at the HEMU – Haute Ecole de Musique de Lausanne.
