ZERPA Ivan

Ivan Zerpa began playing the violin at the age of ten at the Federico Villena School. In 1995, he studied at the Latin American Academy of Violin with José Francisco Del Castillo and then at the Mozarteum Academy in Venezuela. First violin solo of the National Youth Orchestra of Venezuela and the Youth Orchestra of the Americas, he has been on tour in the United States, Latin America, Europe and China.

With a scholarship from the Clara Messager Foundation, he was admitted to Gyula Stuller’s class in 2002 and obtained a Master’s degree as a soloist at the Haute Ecole de Musique de Lausanne.

He has performed as a soloist in Venezuela, Brazil, China and Switzerland. In the chamber music, he plays with Rüdiger Liebermann, Benoit Fromanger, Katia and Marielle Labèque, Ricardo Castro, Edith Fischer, Philip Myers and Ilmari Hopkins.

Iván Zerpa is a member of the Human Rights Orchestra, the Fribourg Chamber Orchestra and the Swiss Orchestra. He teaches violin at the Fribourg Conservatory and conducts the Student Orchestra.
